I recently purchased a used 1999 Gary Fisher. It came with Heng Shin 26 x 1.95 knobby tires, probably good tires but not what I wanted. Even pumped up to the maximum PSI the tires gave too much roll resistance and were noisy. I am 61 years old and will never ride this bike off road or on dirt trails. I bought this bike as a commuter, on paved roads. This morning I put on my new Michelin City 26 x 1.4 w/ Avenir tubes and pumped them up to 75 PSI. I could have pumped them up to 87 PSI but I only weigh 175 LB. Gosh what a difference. These tires are quiet and have much less roll resistance. Exerting the same amount of effort I ride about three miles per hour faster. In that the tires are pump up to a higher pressure than my old tires the ride is a little rougher, but I expected it would be. In that I had the tires off I trued the wheels and adjusted the brakes before putting on the new tires. All told it took about an hour to remove the old tires, do some adjustments, and install
