These tie-downs work well on a car without a rack. The car is protected, the board is protected and held well. I did one long trip with a board on the car, and now use them all the time for the short drive to the beach. I don’t cinch them down too tight on my son’s soft (foam) board, because the board gets indents, but this is due to the type of board, not any problem with the tie straps. These have kept me from having to buy a rack for the car, which I would have had to buy straps and pads for anyway.

replaced my old modem with a very fast one, why is the internet worse now?
hi, a few days ago i had a linksys wireless g router, and default cable modem given to us by the cable company we have. we have the lowest service available under the options they offer, so im assuming the modem is not a very fast one for online gaming. this christmas, i replaced the router with a linksys wireless-N router, and the lag improved by a longshot. then, i decided to replace the cable modem as well just to make sure i have the best equipment available so i replaced my modem with the motorola extreme surfboard modem which is designed for Design surfboard Online high speed gaming online. set up was super easy and my cable provider quickly activated the new modem. problem is, i was getting over 1500 ping in all my games and could barely surf the net! i was just in shock so i called the cable company and they said it apparantly doesnt matter which modem you have but only the service you have matters. so i end up switching to their high end speed service which is an additional 12 bucks a month and still see so much lag? whats causing this problem? heres a recap of what i have here-service-WOW! cable, the highest internet speed they have available i dont know what its called.router-linksys wireless-N modem-motorola extreme surfboard for gaming 160 mbpslike i said set up for both of these were easy and are able to connect to the net, just does with 1500+ ping. whats the problem here? PLEASE help!! i have to decide soon whether or not i need to return these.on a usual basis after the 6+ months playing this online game with most people being from russia/europe, i get about 300-400 ping. once i got the new better modem, its been over 1500 ping. what i want to know is if this modem is even compatible with what i have because if i shouldnt even be using it in the first place then that would explain alot.
